Women in the arts work in all kinds of roles – from performers and makers, to technicians, directors, writers, producers, curators, administrators and more.

Kathryn Welch has curated this collection of new stock photos to reflect the full diversity of these roles and the women that do them. They have been crowdsourced to enable journalists and writers to access more interesting, realistic and representative images of women’s roles in the creative industry.

The images can be used without a fee by all media outlets, blogs and so on with use of the appropriate credit.

Please help grow this collection by joining the group and adding high-res images of women working in the arts sector. Please remember to include details of who should be credited for the image, and a brief description of what the image shows is helpful too. Please only submit photos for which you have the rights to share in this way (and the permission of anyone who appears in the photo).

This group is founded and moderated entirely by volunteers – do help them out by letting them know if you spot something odd or think they should be flagging something extra in these guidelines.

The inspiration for this group was the editor’s note at the end of this blog post.
