The Clearing is a love story set in a small Irish farming community against the backdrop of Oliver Cromwell’s ‘ethnic cleansing’ of Ireland and explores our sense of national identity and humanity.
The Mother is a surreal domestic drama about the death of matriarch Pearl and how her ballroom-dancing husband Hughie and daughters Dot and Teenie hold things together once she’s gone.
The Clearing went on to be produced by Stellar Quines in 1998, and remounted in 1999.
The Mother was later renamed Learning the Paso Doble and was produced by Stellar Quines in 1999.
