Stellar Quines & Citizens Theatre announce Fibres, new play by Frances Poet for 2019.

We are pleased to announce that Stellar Quines will be co-producing Fibres, a new play by Frances Poet, directed by Jemima Levick, with the Citizens Theatre in their new Season announced this week. Entitled Citizens Women the Season will be dedicated to showcasing the extraordinary and wide-ranging talent of professional and community theatre-makers and the power of performance to transform lives.

Fibres is a new commission from Frances Poet writer of Gut (Traverse 2018) and the Fringe First Award winning Adam (NTS & Traverse Theatre 2017).  A funny and touching play, with humour and shocking frankness it tells the story of the terrible legacy of asbestosis in the Clyde shipyards and a daughter’s attempt to overcome her grief.

This production will tour community halls and centres throughout the greater Glasgow area and beyond including venues in West Dunbartonshire, North and East Ayrshire, Inverclyde and Lanarkshire.

The season will also include  Nora: A Doll House, a radical retelling of Ibsen’s classic text by Olivier Award-winning Stef Smith, The Duchess (of Malfi) adapted and directed by Zinnie Harris (The Oresteia: This Restless House) and the return of Cora Bissett’s This is What Girls Are Made Of.

Fibres will tour October 2019. Dates and venues to be announced.
