The shortlist was announced today for the Critics Awards for Theatre in Scotland (CATS) 2018. We are delighted that The 306 Day has been included in the shortlist and has received a nomination for the beautiful music in the production composed by Gareth Williams, with Musical Direction by Claire McKenzie and performed by members of the Red Note Ensemble
The 306 Day was the second in the trilogy written by Oliver Emanuel and produced by National Theatre of Scotland, Perth Theatre and Stellar Quines, in association with Red Note Ensemble and 1418 Now. The second part explored how the war affected women, families, and communities on the home front. It opened at The Station Hotel, Perth in May 2017 and toured around Scotland.
Deeply moving and beautifully directed by Jemima Levick, the musical score was an integral part of the production with musicians and cast performing the score throughout.
Jemima Levick said: “I am delighted that The 306 Day has received recognition for the beautiful music created for the production and this nomination is for everyone involved in the ensemble. It was wonderful to work on this production and tell the stories of these women and girls.”
The CATS are an annual recognition of achievements in theatre in Scotland and this year the Lyceum Theatre leads the nominations closely followed by Perth Theatre and the Citizens Theatre. The award ceremony will be held at the newly reopened Perth Theatre on Sunday 10 June and is open to everyone. Tickets available now.
Congratulations to everyone for their nominations and good luck!
