Stellar Quines is looking to strengthen its board through the appointment of two more board members to join its current board of 6. Board members are responsible for establishing the overall strategy and objectives for the company and monitoring performance and we are looking for a mix of skills and experience to match our needs. The company would particularly welcome applications from people who have experience in fundraising and finance. We are committed to representing a diversity of voices on our board.
Stellar Quines is an award winning Scottish theatre company that celebrates the energy, experience and perspective of women. Established in 1993, the company provides a platform for women’s stories and creates live theatre driven by women and where female practitioners are at the forefront of creative roles. Stellar Quines is the only professional theatre company in Scotland working in this way and has established a reputation for high quality, diverse work which reflects an eclectic range of theatrical styles underpinned by pushing boundaries and challenging stereotypes.
The company produces and tours at least one main production a year, holds at least two rehearsal rooms a year and offers development opportunities for women working in theatre throughout the year, including commissioning new plays. Recent works include a tour of The Fair Intellectual Club by Lucy Porter, a ground-breaking production of The Jennifer Tremblay Trilogy at the Edinburgh Fringe as part of the Made in Scotland 2015 Showcase and the company is currently working on a production of Sylvia Dow’s play Threads for touring in the Scottish Borders.
Stellar Quines is funded by Creative Scotland and is staffed by an Artistic Director, Creative Producer, part time Administrator and part time Marketing Officer. Board meetings are held quarterly in Edinburgh.
